High performance vacuum pumps include Turbo Molecular and Oil Diffusion Pumps, both can achieve almost perfect vacuum and both require regular raw pumps to start them up.  While Turbo pumps are usually  used in analytical chemistry Oil Diffusion Pumps are more for industrial product, but both type can ultimately achieve 10^-7 to 10^-9 vacuum.
